Level K and M

Salary: £35,411 to £46,549 prorated.

Locations: Selby – this role may include working from home, but attendance at the office, court hearings and committee meetings will be required

Contract: CDI Part-time

Hours: 6 p.m.

We are looking for a barrister/solicitor who can join our support team to provide legal support to Selby District Council and other clients on a range of district related legal matters.

The role

As our regulatory attorney/attorney, you will advise on regulatory law laws, such as licensing, housing, environmental health, antisocial behavior, lawsuits and other matters.

You will also have the opportunity to learn other areas of law in other departments where we provide support.

What you will bring

To pass, you must hold a barrister’s, barrister’s or FILEX qualification with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the law in one of the areas of the portfolios, and a working knowledge of legal proceedings and court appearance . Additionally, you will have the skills to communicate with colleagues and other stakeholders in a clear, honest and enthusiastic manner, and will be able to explain complex issues in an easy to understand manner and produce a representative account of the discussions and actions of the meeting. ;

Ideally we are looking for someone familiar with the political structure and functions of the board, however, we would welcome all applicants.
