If your spouse does one of these jobs, this self-reported divorce attorney says the marriage might not work out.
Police, fire and military are just a few of “top five male professions women should avoid marrying,” according to TikTok user @Jettiegirl28, who claims to be a “local lawyer who specializes in divorce” specializing in family law for over 13 years.
“During my career, I’ve watched my toughest cases, and surprisingly many of them involve men in these five professions,” the brunette explains in her popular PSA, which has amassed 1 .5 million views.
In addition to cops, firefighters and soldiers, the alleged authority also warned women against marrying surgeons and pilots.
“What I notice among these five professions is that they tend to be more narcissistic, they tend to be more controlling,” she said generally. “They tend to be a lot harder to deal with a divorce. They kind of have a nuke-the-earth, scorch-the-earth, ‘How dare you challenge me?’ type of litigation approach.
And, in addition to their shared bloodlust for revenge during court proceedings, the divorce professional claims that most men in these areas suffer from a god complex.
“They all have in common that they are gods in their profession,” she said. “If you’re a police officer, you walk around with a gun, you walk around with authority.”
“If you’re a surgeon, you walk around the hospital. Everyone looks up to you, you are responsible, everyone treats you with respect,” the woman continued. “And then you come home and suddenly someone asks you to take out the trash,” she said, adding, “I think that’s a tough transition to make.”
The so-called divorce expert went on to explain that pilots – both commercial and military – also struggle to maintain a healthy mental balance between work and private life.
“They control the lives of 150 to 200 people at a time. They are treated with enormous respect. They have a lot of responsibilities,” she said. “And they tend to be very narcissistic and very controlling.”
And his supporters seemed to wholeheartedly agree.
“[I divorced] a surgeon and I can confirm that it is true,” one woman remarked. “1000% firefighter. Speaking of a hellish experience,” another lamented.
But high-flying men in top positions weren’t his only targets.
In a sequel clip, which garnered a staggering 3.3 million views, the apparent legal eagle warned men of the type of working women they would be wise to avoid when looking for a Honey.
“Stay-at-home moms,” she said nervously, jokingly predicting that her followers will “hate” her for calling the housewives.
“When you divorce a stay-at-home mom, she’s paralyzed with fear. And rightly so, because their whole life is going to change,” the cyber advisor said. “They are going to have to return to the job market, they are going to have to move eventually. Their finances are about to be very different.
And, due to the tsunami wave of earth-shattering upheavals in the life of the average housewife, she has noticed that most of them: “bury their heads in the sand and stall”, making the divorce proceedings ” highly contested and very costly”.
She also said stay-at-home moms tend to be the most common profession for divorcing wives because “they tend to be so focused on the kids, and the husband is so focused on his career.”
And, according to his observations, the husband ends up “feeling like an ATM”, while the wife becomes obsessed with raising children, and the couple ends up “breaking up”.
Commentators from all walks of life seemed to agree with his conclusions.
” It’s not surprising. So much [stay-at-home moms] sacrificing so much of themselves and receiving very little validation. [And] they’re often told what they’re doing isn’t really working,” one viewer wrote.
“Do you see a lot of [stay-at-home moms] married to the top 5 professions to avoid among men?? asked another, to which the TikToker replied: “Yes”.
And the self-proclaimed courtroom activist closed her viral advice posts, saying: ‘It’s not hate. It’s just an observation. This will probably be my last TikTok. So see you soon.
