Kate Adams won almost £ 20million in total compensation last year
Apple’s top lawyer won ten times more than the average Magic Circle partner last year, taking home almost $ 27million (£ 20million) in total compensation.
Kate Adams, 57, who is currently legal counsel and senior vice president of legal and global security at Apple, earned $ 26.97million (£ 19.82million) in 2021, according to the statement by The tech giant’s annual proxy filed this month with US Securities and the Foreign Exchange Commission (SEC).
Magic Circle law firm partners did a fraction of what Adams received last year; Freshfields’ earnings per capital partner (PEP) stands at £ 1.91million, according to our 2022 list of the most active companies, while partners Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance have raised 1 , £ 9million and £ 1.85million.
The PEP in just a handful of US companies exceeds the £ 3million mark, still a far cry from the mind-boggling amount Adams would have earned.
