Amber Heard has slammed Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, for defending the Hollywood star days after she was found guilty of defaming her ex-husband by claiming he sexually assaulted her during their wedding.
Asked if it was a lie when Depp said on the stand that he “never hit her”, Heard replied: “Yeah it was”. The Aquaman actress also accused jurors of being swayed by her ex-husband’s “fantastic acting” at the helm.
When asked what she thinks of allegations by Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez – who rose to fame online after her fierce cross-examination of Heard on the stand – that she had ‘played’ at stand and that she had lied about the abuse she says she suffered at the hands of the actor.
She asked how anyone could believe an “advocate for the man who convinced the world he had scissors for his fingers”.
It’s the first time Heard has spoken publicly since a jury ruled she defamed her ex-husband and ordered him to pay her $10 million in damages.
Heard called Depp a ‘liar’ and repeated his claims he beat her during their marriage while speaking out about the ‘unfair’ verdict in the former couple’s $8million defamation lawsuit during a interview with Savannah Guthrie from Today.
